Reesha... i love your food blog. I do. My ? is about Thanksgiving. I want to brine my turkey. I'm nervous about it though. What do you use as a brine? And also, do you season after brining? or just cook? HELP ME REESHA!!!!!!
a good starter brine for a say 15 to 19lb turkey is 1 cup salt, 1.5 cups brown sugar, maybe some whole herbs, seasoning and what not dissolved in hot water, then cooled/iced and make sure your turkey is fully submerged for at least 6 to 8 hours or overnight. not much longer or it may be too salty. kinda use your best judgement.
